নোয়াখালীর বেগমগঞ্জে অপপ্রচারের প্রতিবাদে ইউপি চেয়ারম্যানদের সংবাদ সম্মেলন

নোয়াখালীর বেগমগঞ্জে ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যানদের বিরুদ্ধে ফেসবুকসহ বিভিন্ন মাধ্যমে অপপ্রচারের প্রতিবাদে সংবাদ সম্মেলন করেছেন চেয়ারম্যানরা। উপজেলা পরিষদে ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান সমিতির কার্যালয়ে এই সংবাদ সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

সংবাদ সম্মেললে লিখিত বক্তব্যে উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান সমিতির সভাপতি আরিফুর রহমান মাহমুদ জানান, করোনার দূর্যোগ মূহুর্তে মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশে যখন চেয়ারম্যানরা জনগনের জন্য নিরলস ভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন । তখন একটি কুচক্রি মহল মিথ্যা তথ্য দিয়ে বিভিন্ন সংবাদ মাধ্যমে ও ফেসবুকে চেয়ারম্যানদের বিরুদ্ধে অপপ্রচার চালাচ্ছে  এবং সন্ত্রাসীরা একের পর হামলা করেছে।  এতে চেয়ারম্যানরা যেমন নিরপাত্তাহীনতা ভুগছেন পাশাপাশি ইউনিয়নের জনগনের কাছে তাদের  সম্মানহানী হচ্ছে। কুচক্রি মহলের বিরুদ্ধে
থানাসহ বিভিন্ন দপ্তরে অভিযোগ দিলেও কোন লাভ হচ্ছে না বলে অভিযোগ করেন তিনি। বিষয়টি কঠোর ভাবে দেখার জন্য তিনি প্রশাসনের হস্তক্ষেপ কামনা করেন।

এ সময় উপজেলার ১৬টি ইউনিয়নের চেয়ারম্যান ও বিভিন্ন সংবাদ মাধ্যমের কর্মীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

In Noakhali's Begumganj, the chairmen of the union councils have held a press conference to protest against the propaganda through various media including Facebook. The press conference was held at the office of the UP Chairman's Association in the Upazila Parishad.

Arifur Rahman Mahmud, president of the Upazila Chairman's Association, said in a written statement at the press conference that the chairmen were working relentlessly for the people at the time of the Corona disaster at the behest of the Hon'ble Prime Minister. At that time, an insidious group was spreading propaganda against the chairmen through various news outlets and Facebook with false information and the terrorists attacked one after another. He complained to various departments including the police station but no profit was being made. He sought the intervention of the administration to look into the matter strictly.

At that time the chairmen of 18 unions of the upazila and the workers of different media were present.
