নোয়াখালী প্রতিনিধি : নোয়াখালীর সেনবাগ উপজেলার নবীপুর ইউনিয়নে সরকারের খাদ্যবান্ধব কর্মসূচির চাল অন্যত্র বিক্রির অভিযোগে নবীপুর ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক চালের ডিলার শাহ জাহান খান সাজু ও উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সদস্য ইসমাইল হোসেনকে আটক করা হয়েছে। এসময় ১৫ বস্তা চাল উদ্ধার করা হয় ।

মঙ্গলবার (২১ এপ্রিল) সন্ধ্যা থেকে রাত ৯টা পর্যন্ত এ অভিযান পরিচালনা করেন সেনবাগ উপজেলা সহকারি কমিশনার (ভূমি) ক্ষেমালিকা চাকমা। অভিযানে সহযোগিতা করেন উপজেলা খাদ্য নিয়ন্ত্রক অচিন্ত্য চাকমা ও সেনবাগ থানা পুলিশ।

স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা গেছে, নবীপুরের ডিলার শাহজাহান খান সরকারের খাদ্যবান্ধব কর্মসূচীর আওতায় ১০টাকা মূল্যের চাল সুবিধাভোগীদের কাছে বিক্রি না করে চালের বস্তা বাহিরে বিক্রি করেন। তাকে এ কাজে সহযোগিতা করেন ইমসাইল হোসেন নামের এক আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা। বিষয়টি সেনবাগ উপজেলা প্রশাসনকে জানালে মঙ্গলবার সন্ধ্যায় অভিযান চালিয়ে ‘শেখ হাসিনার বাংলাদেশ ক্ষুধা হবে নিরুদ্দেশ’ এ শ্লোগান লেখা ১৫টি বস্তায় ৪৫০ কেজি চালসহ তাদের দুইজনকে আটক করা হয়। 

সেনবাগ উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার সাইফুল ইসলাম মজুমদার ঘটনা নিশ্চিত করে বলেন, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে খবর পেয়ে নবীপুর ইউনিয়নের ৬টি বাড়ীতে অভিযান পরিচালনা করা হয়। এসময় কয়েকটি ঘর থেকে খাদ্যবান্ধব কর্মসূচির ১৫বস্তা চাল উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। প্রতি বস্তায় ৩০ কেজি করে চাল রয়েছে। অভিযানকালে চালের তিনটি খালি বস্তাও উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। 

তিনি আরও বলেন, চাল উদ্ধারকালে ক্রেতারা জানান তারা প্রতি বস্তা চাল ডিলার শাহজাহানের কাছ থেকে ৯০০-৯৫০ ও ১০০০টাকা দামে কিনে ছিলেন। সরকারি চাল উদ্ধারের ঘটনায় উপজেলা খাদ্য নিয়ন্ত্রক বাদী হয়ে আসামিদের বিরুদ্ধে সেনবাগ থানায় একটি মামলা দায়ের করেন।

Senbagh Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Khemalika Chakma conducted the operation on Tuesday (April 21) from 9pm to 9pm. Upazila Food Controller Achintya Chakma and Senbagh police assisted in the operation.

According to local sources, Shahjahan Khan, a dealer in Nabipur, sells rice worth Tk 10 outside the sacks to the beneficiaries under the government's food-friendly program. An Awami League leader named Imsail Hossain assisted him in this work. After informing the Senbagh Upazila administration about the matter, two of them were detained along with 450 kg of rice in 15 sacks with the slogan 'Sheikh Hasina's Bangladesh will go missing'.

Senbagh Upazila Nirbahi Officer Saiful Islam Majumder confirmed the incident. During this time, 15 sacks of food-friendly rice have been recovered from several houses. Each bag contains 30 kg of rice. Three empty sacks of rice were also recovered during the operation.

He added that when the rice was recovered, the buyers said they had bought it from dealer Shahjahan at Rs 900-950 and Rs 1,000 per bag. The Upazila Food Controller filed a case against the accused at Senbagh Police Station.
