নোয়াখালীর সোনাইমুড়িতে ‘বন্দুকযুদ্ধে’ একজন নিহত, পুলিশের দাবি ১১ ডাকাতি মামলার আসামী, অস্ত্র উদ্ধার, One killed in 'gun battle' at Sonamuri in Noakhali Police claim 3 accused of robbery, arms recovered

নোয়াখালীর সোনাইমুড়িতে পুলিশের সঙ্গে বন্দুকযুদ্ধে মোখলেছুর রহমান ওরফে ডাকাত সুবল (৩৮) নামে একজনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার রাত পৌনে একটার দিকে উপজেলার পূর্ব নাটেশ্বর এলাকায় টহল পুলিশের সঙ্গে সম্মুখ যুদ্ধে তার মৃত্যু হয়। এ সময় পুলিশ ১টি দেশিয় তৈরি এলজি ও ৩ রাউন্ড গুলি উদ্ধার করে। 

নিহত মোখলেছুর রহমান সুবল বেগমগঞ্জ উপজেলার দুর্গাপুর গ্রামের এছাক মিয়ার ছেলে। তার বিরুদ্ধে সোনাইমুড়ি, বেগমগঞ্জ, কোম্পানীগঞ্জসহ বিভিন্ন থানায় ১১টি ডাকাতি মামলা রয়েছে। 

পুলিশ জানায়, বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে সোনাইমুড়ি থানার টহল পুলিশ পূর্ব নাটেরশ্বর এলাকায় টহলে যায়। এ সময় ডাকাতরা পুলিশের গাড়ি লক্ষ্য করে এলোপাতাড়ি গুলি ছোঁড়ে। একপর্যায়ে পুলিশও আত্মরক্ষার্থে গুলি ছুড়লে ডাকাতরা পালিয়ে যায়। পরে ঘটনস্থলে গেলে সুবল গুলিবিদ্ধ অবস্থায় পড়ে থাকলে পুলিশ তাকে উদ্ধার করে নোয়াখালী জেনারেল হাসপাতালে নিলে কর্তব্যরত চিকিৎসক তাকে মৃত ঘোষণা করে। এ সময় পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থল থেকে অস্ত্র ও গুলি উদ্ধার করে।

জানতে চাইলে সোনাইমুড়ি থানার ওসি আবদুস সামাদ জানান, পুলিশের সঙ্গে সম্মুখ যুদ্ধে ডাকাত সর্দার সুবল নিহত হয়। তার বিরুদ্ধে বিভিন্ন থানায় ১১টি ডাকাতি ও অস্ত্র মামলা রয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় হত্যা, অস্ত্র ও ডাকাতির প্রস্তুতির আরো একটি মামলা দায়ের করা হবে বলেও জানান তিনি।

Mokhlesur Rahman alias robber Sobal (1) was killed in a gun battle with police in Noakhali in Noakhali. He died in a frontal battle with police patrol in the eastern Nateshwar area at around 1am on Thursday night. Police recovered three locally made LGs and 5 rounds.

The deceased was identified as Mokhlesur Rahman Subal, son of Ishaq Mia of Durgapur village of Begamganj upazila. There have been three robbery cases against him in various police stations including Sonimuri, Begamganj, Companyganj.

According to police, the police patrolled the area at Sonamuri police station on Thursday night. The robbers opened fire at the police cars. At one point, the robbers fled when the police opened fire in self-defense. Later, when Subal was shot at the spot, police rescued him and took him to Noakhali General Hospital, where the duty doctor declared him dead. Police recovered weapons and bullets from the scene.

When asked, OC Abdus Samad of Sonimuri police said that the robber Sardar Subal was killed in an encounter with the police. There have been three robberies and weapons cases against him in different police stations. Another case will be filed to prepare for murder, weapons and robbery in the incident, he said.
