নোয়াখালীতে স্বামীর বিরুদ্ধে যৌতুকের জন্যে স্ত্রীর মাথার চুল কেটে গরম খুন্তি দিয়ে সারা শরীর ঝলসে দেওয়ার অভিযোগ উঠেছে। এরপর হাসপাতালে ভাড়াটে সন্ত্রাসী দিয়ে তাকে তুলে নেওয়ার চেষ্টা চালানো হয়েছে। ওই নারীকে নোয়াখালী জেনারেল হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে। চিকিৎসক জানিয়েছেন ভুক্তভোগীর অবস্থা গুরুতর। 

ভুক্তবোগী ও তার স্বজনরা জানান, নোয়াখালীর কবিরহাট উপজেলার বড় রামদেবপুর গ্রামের ইউসুপ আলীর মেয়ে নিলুফার ইয়াসমিন কলি ও বেগমগঞ্জ উপজেলার খানপুর গ্রামের আবদুল মতিনের ছেলে মোশাররফ হোসেন উজ্জলের মধ্যে ২০০৯ সালে পারিবারিকভাবে বিয়ে হয়। তাদের ৫ বছরের একটি ছেলে সন্তান রয়েছে। বিয়ের পর থেকে যৌতুকের জন্যে স্বামী কলির ওপর শারীরিক নির্যাতন চালিয়ে আসছে। চাপে পড়ে বাপের বাড়ি থেকে বিদেশ যাওয়ার জন্য কয়েক বার টাকা এনে দেন কলি। গত দুই মাস আগে সৌদি প্রবাসী উজ্জল দেশে ফেরার পর আবারও যৌতুকের জন্য কলির ওপর নির্যান শুরু করে। সর্বশেষ গত বুধবার রাতে জেলা শহরের বসিরার দোকান এলাকায় বাসায় যৌতুকের জন্য কলির মাথার চুল কেটে দিয়ে গরম খুন্তি দিয়ে সারা শরীর ঝলসে দেওয়া হয়। এ সময় ছেলেকে বেঁধে রেখে কলি চিৎকার করলে তাকে গলা কেটে হত্যার হুমকি দেয় উজ্জল। এক পর্যায়ে পালিয়ে বাপের বাড়িতে উঠেন কলি। সেখান থেকে তাকে চিকিৎসার জন্য কবিরহাট উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে ভর্তি করা হলে সেখানে সন্ত্রাসী নিয়ে হামলা চালায় উজ্জল। সোমবার বিকেলে উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য কলিকে নোয়াখালী জেনারেল হাসপাতালে নেওয়ার সময় আবারও ভাড়াটে সন্ত্রাসী দিয়ে ছিনিয়ে নেওয়ার চেস্টা করে উজ্জল। পরে স্থানীয় লোকজনের তাড়া খেয়ে সন্ত্রাসীরা পালিয়ে যায়। 

খবর পেয়ে রাতে কলিকে দেখতে হাসপাতালে যান জেলার অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার কাজী আবদুর রহীম । এ সময় তারা ঘটনার সাথে জড়িতদেরকে দ্রুত আইনের আওতায় আনার আশ্বাস দেন।

হাসপাতালের চিকিৎসক নাসির উদ্দিন জানান, শারীরিক অবস্থা অতোটা ভালো নয়। তবে দীর্ঘদিন চিকিৎসা নিলে ভালো হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে।
