নোয়াখালীর বিচ্ছিন্ন দ্বীপ উপজেলা হাতিয়ার বুড়িরচর ইউনিয়নে অভিযান চালিয়ে আজাদ হোসেন প্রকাশ গুল আজাদ (৩৫) কে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে কোস্টগার্ড। এসময় তার কাছ থেকে একটি শর্টগান, এক রাউন্ড কার্তুজ ও ৭২পিস ইয়াবা উদ্ধার করা হয়।
বৃহস্পতিবার ভোরে বুরিডোলাঘাট এলাকা থেকে তাকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। আটককৃত আজাদ ওই এলাকার ইয়াছিনের ছেলে।
কোস্টগার্ড হাতিয়ার স্টেশন অফিসার লে. মেহেদী হাছান জানান, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে বুড়িরচর ইউনিয়নের ৯নং ওয়ার্ডের গুল আজাদের বাড়ীতে অভিযান চালানো হয়। এসময় অস্ত্র, গুলি ও ইয়াবাসহ তাকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। তার বিরুদ্ধে পূর্বের একাধিক মামলা রয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় তার বিরুদ্ধে অস্ত্র ও মাদকদ্রব্য নিয়ন্ত্রণ আইনে মামলা হয়েছে।
তিনি আরো জানান, গুল আজাদ মাদক ও চোরাই মোটরসাইকেল ক্রয় বিক্রির সাথে জড়িত রয়েছে।

Coast Guard tool station officer Lt. Mehdi Hasan said the raid was carried out at Gul Azad's house at Ward No 8 in Burichar Union on the basis of secret news. He was arrested with weapons, ammunition and Ibaas. There have been multiple previous cases against him. A case has been filed against him under the Arms and Drugs Control Act.
He added that Gul Azad was involved in the sale of drugs and smuggling motorcycles.
