নোয়াখালীতে প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীর জীবনমান উন্নয়ন প্রকল্প শির্ষক গণমাধ্যম কর্মীদের অবহিত করণ সভা অনুষ্ঠিত, Meeting to inform top media activists of life-long development projects of marginalized people in Noakhali

নোয়াখালী পৌরসভা এলাকায় অবহেলিত জনগোষ্ঠীর জীবনমান উন্নয়ন প্রকল্প নিয়ে স্থানীয় গণমাধ্যম কর্মীদের সাথে অবহিত করণ সভা করেছে স্থানীয় সরকার বিভাগ। মঙ্গলবার নোয়াখালী পৌরসভা ও স্থানীয় সরকার, পল্লী উন্নয়ন ও সমবায় মন্ত্রণালয়ের উদ্যোগে এ সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। 

এতে প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন, প্রকল্পের পরিচালক ও স্থানীয় সরকার মন্ত্রণালয়ের যুগ্ম সচিব আবদুল মান্নান। অন্যদের মধ্যে বক্তব্য রাখেন, নোয়াখালী পৌরসভার মেয়র শহীদ উল্যাহ্ খান সোহেল, ইউএনডিপির কমিউনিটি কো-অডিনেটর ফরিদ আহমেদ, সিটি লিয়াজু কো-অডিনেটর ইকবাল হোসেন, পৌরসভার নির্বাহী প্রকৌশলী সুজিত বড়–য়াসহ অনেকে। এছাড়া স্থানীয় গণমাধ্যম কর্মীরাও নানা দিক নির্দেশনা মূলক বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন। 

বক্তারা বলেন, এ প্রকল্পটি বাস্তবায়ন হলে নোয়াখালী পৌর শহর এলাকায় বিভিন্ন বস্তি, ফুটপাতের ব্যবসায়ী, ছিন্নমূল মানুষসহ প্রান্তিক মানুষের ব্যাপক উন্নয়ন হবে। একই সঙ্গে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের নেতিবাচক প্রভাব থেকে বাঁচতেও নানা উন্নয়ন মূলক কাজ হবে এ প্রকল্পের আওতায়। এক কথায় নগর দারিদ্র্য বিমচনে নেয়ামক হিসেবে কাজ করবে এ প্রকল্প। 

Noakhali Representative:

The local government department has held a meeting with local media staff on the life-long development projects of the neglected people in the Noakhali municipality area. The meeting was held on Tuesday with the initiative of the Noakhali Municipality and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.

The chief guest was Abdul Mannan, the project manager and joint secretary of the local government ministry. Among others, Mayor of Noakhali Municipality Shahid Ullah Khan Sohail, UNDP Community Co-Auditor Farid Ahmed, City Liazu Co-Auditor Iqbal Hossain, Municipal Executive Engineer Sujit Baru, among others. In addition, local media workers also gave directional speeches.

Speakers said that if the project is implemented, there will be huge development of slums, pavement traders, marginalized people including nomads in the Noakhali municipal city area. At the same time, there will be various developmental works to avoid the negative impacts of climate change. In a word, the project will serve as a controller for poverty alleviation.
