নোয়াখালীর সুবর্ণচর উপজেলার চরবাটা ইউনিয়নের সৈকত পাড়া থেকে ডাকাতির প্রস্তুতিকালে ২টি এলজি ও দেশীয় অস্ত্রসসহ ১ ডাকাতকে গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ। এ সময় তার তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে পুলিশ দুটি এলজি, কার্তুজ, রামদা, কিরিচ ও হুকসহ ডাকাতি করার সরঞ্জামাদি উদ্ধার করে।
সোমবার গভীর রাতে স্থানীয় এলাকাবাসীর সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে সুবর্ণচর থানার পুলিশ ওই এলাকা থেকে ডাকাতকে ধাওয়া করে উপজেলার সৈকত ডিগ্রি কলেজের দক্ষিণ পাশে করিম মাস্টারের বাড়ির সামনে থেকে গ্রেফতার করে।
গ্রেফতারকৃত ডাকাত মো. রিয়াজ (২৭) হাতিয়া উপজেলার ভূমিহীন বাজার এলাকার আজিজুল হকের ছেলে।
চর জব্বার থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) মো. সাহেদ উদ্দিন বলেন, এলাকাবাসির তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে ডাকাতির প্রস্তুতিকালে এক ডাকাতকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। পরে, পুলিশ তার স্বীকারোক্তি অনুযায়ি অস্ত্র উদ্ধার করা হয়। সঙ্গীয় অন্যান্যদেরকে গ্রেফতারে চেষ্টা চলছে। গ্রেফতারকৃত ডাকাতের বিরুদ্ধে অস্ত্র আইনে মামলা দায়েরের প্রস্তুতি চলছে।

Police have arrested two robbers, including two LGs and domestic weapons, in preparation for the robbery from Charbata Union beach in Subarnchar upazila of Noakhali. On the basis of his information, police recovered the robbery equipment along with two LGs, Kartuz, Ramda, Kirich and Hooks.
Subarchachar police arrested the robber from the area and arrested him in front of Karim Master's house on the south side of the beach degree college of the upazila on Monday night.
The arrested robber said. Riaz, 28, is the son of Azizul Haque of the landless market area of Hatia upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Char Jabbar Police Station. Saeed Uddin said that one dacoit was arrested on the basis of information of locals. Later, the police recovered the weapon in accordance with his confession. Efforts are underway to arrest others. Preparations are underway to file a case under the Arms Act against the arrested robber.
