জেলাটির কবিরহাট উপজেলায় চলছে জাতীয় পরিচয়পত্রের স্মার্টকার্ড বিতরণ, উপজেলার ৩নং ধানসিঁড়ি ইউনিয়ন পরিষদে আনন্দ ও উল্ল্যাসের মধ্য দিয়ে চলছে কার্ড বিতরণের কার্যক্রম। কুয়াশার আদলে ঘেরা এই শীতের সকালে বিভিন্ন বয়সের নারীরা তাদের কোলের ছোট বাচ্চাটিকে নিয়ে লাইনে দাড়ায়, সকাল ৯টার সময় কার্ড বিতরণ শুরু হয়ে বিকেল চারটার সময় শেষ হয়। দুপুর ১২টা পর্যন্ত নারী ভোটাদের কার্ড বিতরণ শেষে পুরুষ ভোটারদের স্মার্টকার্ডটি দেওয়া হয়। বিরতিহীন ভাবে চলে কার্ড বিতরণের কর্যক্রম। অনেক সময় অপেক্ষার পর স্মার্টকার্ডটি হাতে পেয়ে আনন্দে বাড়ি পিরেন সকল নারী পুরুষ ভোটারগন।
অত্র ইউনিয়ন চেয়ারম্যান আবদুল মন্নান মুনাফ বলেন, আজ ১নং ওয়ার্ড ভোটাদের কার্ড দেওয়া হচ্ছে, আগামি শনিবার ২/৩নং ওয়ার্ড ভোটাদের স্মার্টকার্ড দেওয়া হবে, এই ভাবে সাতদিন আমার ইউনিয়নে এই স্মার্ট কার্ড বিতরণ কার্যক্রম চলবে। তিনি আরো বলেন, এই ইউনিয়নবাসী যেন সুন্দর মত তাদের এই কার্ড গুলো নিতে পারে যাতে কোন সমস্যা না হয় এই জন্য এখানে পুলিশ, ৯টি ওয়ার্ডের চৌকিদার এবং সকল মেম্বারগন উপস্থিত রয়েছেন।
উপজেলা নির্বাচন কর্মকর্তা মনিরুল ইসলাম জানান, এই উপজেলাটিতে গত ১১ই নভেম্বর ২০১৯ইং থেকে জাতীয় পরিচয়পত্রের স্মার্টকার্ড বিতরণ কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়, আগামি ১৮ই জানুয়ারি ২০২০ইং পর্যন্ত স্মার্টকার্ড বিকরণ কার্যক্রম চলবে। আমরা যথা সময়ের মধ্যে আমাদের এই কাজটি সমাপ্তি করতে পারবো। তিনি আরো বলেন, অত্র উপজেলাটিতে মোট ভোটার সংখ্যা ১৪৬২৪১ জন, এখন কার্ড পাবে ১৩৫২০৪ জন। বাকি যেই কার্ড গুলো আসেনি সেই গুলো আবার নতুন তারিখ করে বিতরণ করা হবে, এবং যারা ল্যামোনেটিং কার্ডটি হারিয়ে পেলেছে তারা সোনালি ব্যাংকে ৩৪৫ টাকার চালান ফরমে আইডি কোর্ড দিয়ে পূরুণ করে নিয়ে আসলে কার্ড পেয়ে যাবেন। এবং ১৮ জানুয়ারির পরে আমরা পুরো উপজেলা নিয়ে চারদিনের একটা প্রোগ্রাম করবো, এখন যারা কার্ড নিতে পারছেনা তখন সেখান থেকে নিতে পারবে। তার পরেও যারা নিতে পারবেনা তারা যেই কোন সময় উপজেলা থেকে তাদের কার্ড সংগ্রহ করতে পারবে।
